How ‘Moral Agency’ is part of the vast right wing conspiracy

This is so true, that of the proprietors of slaves a very small proportion indeed are ever seen to labour. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever: that considering numbers, nature and natural means only, a revolution of the wheel of fortune, an exchange of situation is among possible events: that it may become probable by supernatural interference! The almighty has no attribute which can take side with us in such a contest. – But it is impossible to be temperate and to pursue this subject through the various considerations of policy, of morals, of history natural and civil. We must be contented to hope they will force their way into every one’s mind. I think a change already perceptible, since the origin of the present revolution. The spirit of the master is abating, that of the slave rising from the dust, his condition mollifying, the way I hope preparing, under the auspices of heaven, for a total emancipation, and that this is disposed, in the order of events, to be with the consent of the masters, rather than by their extirpation.

~ Thomas Jefferson – Note on the State of Virginia, 1781 ~

Our heritage of freedom is as precious as life itself. It is truly a God-given gift to man. … the fight of liberty-loving people for freedom has continued.

~ Ezra Taft Benson – The Title of Liberty: Let Us Live to Keep Men Free, pg. 3 ~

What is Moral Agency? Most individuals refer to the concept of Free Will. I, personally, prefer the term Moral Agency and Volition. What this refers to is the philosophical idea of humanity possessing the ability to discern right from wrong and to be held accountable for his or her own actions. Volition being the act or power of making a choice or decision. We encounter the moment humanity experienced the ability to become fully vested moral agent’s. This encounter is recorded in Genesis Chapter 3.

Christian belief understands that this was direct disobedience to God, and that it brought sin and death into the world. There is no disagreement with this. They go so far to even say that the deception was that they’d become like God to know good and evilWhile there is no doubt, our first parents brought about mortal existence (as they were immortal prior to partaking of the forbidden fruit), the truth is Genesis 3:22 attests to the reality of what transpired: “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil.” The power of moral agency provided the means by which we are capable of discerning that which is good in opposition to that which is wrong.

Referencing a Jewish commentary on this passage, we discover that the knowledge ascertained was Wisdom:

And…were opened: Scripture is referring to wisdom, and not to actual vision, and the end of the verse proves this. — [from Gen. Rabbah 19:7]

This is to point out the nature between knowledge and wisdom with regard to being moral agents. Knowledge is what we gain through experience. It is a sense of awareness we develop. Wisdom is our ability to make decisions based on past experiences (our knowledge). These decisions are hopefully made in good judgment.

This gives us a foundation to understand how moral agency is part of the vast right-wing conspiracy.

What is the vast right-wing conspiracy?

This term appeared to have been coined in 1995, and then later referenced by Hillary Rodham Clinton. It appears to describe the conspiracy theory and motivation behind the vitriolic movement against her and her husband. A memo in 1995 was written by Chris Lehane, and focused on the Clintons. however, in 1991, a Detroit News article appeared to reference the concept concerning British Parliament.

This all rests upon democracy and the approach to allowing men to live free.

In a Newsweek article, published on June 28, 2017 by Tim Marcin, democrats appear to be politicizing towards socialism. Some of the beliefs of the Right-wing pundits appeal to the fear of socialism. This became evident during the two-terms President Barack Hussein Obama served. In an article published by Forbes contributor Paul Roderick Gregory, he focuses on comparing the presidential policies of the former president to that of the European Socialist state.

In American society, and governance, the idea of socialism is becoming more and more appealing, despite the desecration of what Venezuela is experiencing. Economic and political pundits have remarked on the increase in America’s welfare state. The entitlement to the fruitful labors of others, the increase in poverty and cost of living, and the staggering dependence on more and more rights and liberties being transferred to the state as opposed to individual liberty and consciousness.

Never in recorded history has any movement spread its power so far and so fast as has the socialistic communism in the last three decades. The facts are not pleasant to review. Communist leaders are jubilant in their success. They are driving freedom back on almost every front. Ezra Taft Benson, Let Us Live to Keep Men Free, Title of Liberty, p. 2

Socialism (and it’s familiar Communistic) ideology is the belief in advocacy of the government holding the right to ownership of manufacturing, production, administration, and distribution of material and goods. This became a reality with the passing of the Affordable Care Act (or, Obama Care). Many American citizen’s lament on how well socialism works in other countries and always refer to European countries. They remark on the nationalized health care system, free education to college and universities, and other such benefits.

This is where the former presidential candidate comes in. Part of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign moved from a progressive platform to adopting a more socialistic platform. And, it is the understanding that the vast right wing conspiracy of moral agency comes into discussion.

Socialism enslaves humanity

Socialism is a direct threat to liberty and freedom. It threatens American society, democracy, and the moral volition of her citizens.

It is time, therefore, that every American become alerted and informed about the aims, tactics, and schemes of socialism and communism which are essentially at war against God and the plan of salvation, which is based on freedom of choice. Benson, Title of Liberty, Let Us Live to Keep Men Free

How is socialism a direct threat to American Liberty and Freedom? Socialism enslaves people, rather than allow them the ability to make appropriate choices based on their own right and volition. Remember, humanity are moral agents and granted a precious gift of the ability to make appropriate choices. We are also to be held accountable for our own choices we have made. Socialism denies the individual rights and implements the collective and states rights.

Socialism also promotes a sense of immorality. The etymology of this term refers to the act of “selling off”. What is it we are selling off? Our individual rights. These are replaced by the will and volition of the government. Meaning, we no longer have the right and freedom to make choices for our own lives, because our right and wisdom to choose comes by what the government declares as what is right verses what is wrong. We find this evident with abortion, equity in marriage, and produces a sense of entitlement.

Atheism is a by-product of socialism and communism as it denies the reality of a creator or God. While Christians enjoy a relationship, and derive their moral agency from God, socialism seems to proclaim that a person’s right to human existence is granted by the government. The consciousness of the government supersedes the right of God to influence and impact individuals life.

To produce a pure socialistic state (as evidenced by the recent destruction of Venezuela), the government relies on terrorism and terrorist tactics. Not only to conquer and assimilate a people to conform to socialistic ideals, it is used to abolish an patriots of freedom and liberty. The socialist government influences state media to reflect how those who treasure liberty and freedom to be seen as the terrorists against progressive and liberal ideals.  We see this in full evidence through the media coverage of the Southern Poverty Law that denounces certain Christian organizations as Hate and Terrorist groups. The increase in the Alt-Right and Alt-Left militias (White Supremacy and Antifa) shows the immoral means of how our nation is becoming more and more divisive today.

How has socialism crept into American society?

The influence of socialism is not a new phenomenon. In fact, it has been in a steady, and stealthy, process since the end of World War II. America was drawn into a cold war when Franklin D. Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Joseph Stalin came together at the Yalta Conference that was held between February 4 – 11, 1945.

In his speech, February 9, 1946, Joseph Stalin was hostile in voicing how communism and capitalism were incompatible:

Now the issue is that the Soviet social system has proved to be more viable and stable than the non-Soviet social system, that the Soviet social system is a better form of organization of society than any non-Soviet social system.

This is far from conspiracy, in historical context regarding the political atmosphere: post-World War II. It is a reality that seems to come to pass:

The conspiracy to weaken the United States involves attacks on many fronts. To weaken the American free-enterprise economy which outproduced both its enemies and allies during World War II is a high priority target of the communist leaders. Their press and other propaganda media are therefore constantly selling the principles of centralized or federal control of farms, railroads, electric power, schools, steel, maritime shipping, and many other aspects of the economy – but always in the name of public welfare  (Benson; Title of Liberty, Let Us Live to Keep Men Free, pp. 7-8).

Does this sound familiar? It ought to. With the fight of the 2016 presidential candidacy race, Socialism seemed to prime the political arena of conversation. In fact, the presidency of former Barack Obama appeared to be the catalyst for socialism and social agenda. During his presidency, America entered into a new civil unrest. Those who supported Obama seemed to make vitriolic charges of racism, bigotry, intolerance toward those who did not favor Obama as presidential material. Once he was voted into office, any person speaking out against the Obama Administration policies were continued to be seen as the enemies of progressive and liberal ideas. The crux of this came with the Affordable Care Act. The division appeared to be in its infancy.

From the back cover: It is high time we realized the dangerous threat of creeping socialism and its ruthless comrade, atheistic communism. When socialism is understood, we will realize that many programs advocated, and some of those already adopted by the United States, fall clearly within the category of socialism. What is socialism? It is simply governmental ownership and management of the essential means for the production and distribution of goods.

Gender and Race become the focal point of political machination

Branko Marcetic observed the strategy the Democratic Party utilized to present a case for gender and racial divisions:

One of the themes of this year’s Democratic primaries was the weaponization of identity politics as a cudgel with which to beat Bernie Sanders’s message about inequality. The Podesta emails suggest this was a conscious strategy. One email from ex-Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau (not that Jon Favreau) urges the Clinton camp to continue perpetuating the idea of Sanders as a “single issue voter,” saying: “This idea that class is the only divide and economic issues are all that matter is a very white male centric view of the world (a Bernie Bro view, if you will).”

The fallout of racial and gender division is becoming more and more prominent. The rise of the Black Lives Matter movement, the Alt-Left Militia of Antifa, and the rise of White Supremacy. However, this is not the first time America has seen the racial division being utilized when it came to race and gender.

The civil rights movement gained moment during the American and Soviet Cold War. A battle of economic and political policies and agendas. While most African Americans held to the right and equality afforded under the Constitution of the United States; combating and dismantling racial segregation; and the further importance of social reform to denounce racism and inequality in American Society: Socialists took opportune advantage of this movement:

As the authors explain, “the Freedom Budget that was advocated from 1966 to 1968 was explicitly not a program for socialism. However, it was developed and advanced most effectively by socialists.” Some socialists called it a transitional program for social and economic change. To understand the vital role that socialists played in this period, then, requires an explanation of what socialists fought for and why there were differences within the broad socialist camp. Therefore, Le Blanc and Yates take up the historical antecedents as well as the contending strains of socialism within the civil rights movement. This history, mostly left out of even the best accounts of this period, is vital for understanding the dynamics of the struggle and how “the diverse and sometimes divergent forces gave rise to ‘The Strategy,’” to undo institutional racism and make concrete Roosevelt’s vision. This history is also important for understanding the contradictions that developed as “The Strategy” was implemented, for example, why the Democratic Party became the graveyard of “The Freedom Budget.”

The heart and soul of the Black Lives Movement brought to awareness of continual segregation, unfair treatment, and racial injustices many have experienced within the African American Communities. The movement declared war against what they deem to be White Privilege.

When we say Black Lives Matter, we are broadening the conversation around state violence to include all of the ways in which Black people are intentionally left powerless at the hands of the state.  We are talking about the ways in which Black lives are deprived of our basic human rights and dignity.

The movement has morphed from racial injustices to socialistic principles and ideologies. In and of it self, some members of the movement utilize racial division in promoting a further cause for segregation and division instead of inclusion. One such video surfaced through social media where Ashleigh Shackleford presents the idea that All white people are racists. Her basis for this: White people are not born into being human…you are born into life not to be human… to be demons.

Democratic Party and the rise of White Supremacy

During the political campaign of 1898, the central message of the Democratic party (at that time) was how American is to be viewed as a “white nation”:

While the campaign of 1898 played host to many issues such as silver, education, debt and railroad regulation, the platform upon which the Democrats oriented all of the issues was white supremacy.  “This is a white man’s country,” the Democrats claimed in their official Party Handbook, “and white men must control and govern it.” (Item #382, 38).  White supremacy was a reactionary strategy wielded by Democrats following the successful takeover of state government by the Republicans and Populists on a fusion ticket in 1894.  Recoiling from the loss of their one-party dominated state, Democrats set out to frame the election of 1898 as one of restoration.  Race and partisan politics both play large roles in how the Democrats remembered North Carolina reconstruction politics, and how they envisioned the future.

Prior to this declaration by the Democratic party, a group of white men rose up. They were, and still are, known as the Klu Klux Klan.

Founded in 1866, the Klu Klux Klan (KKK) extended into almost every southern state by 1870 and became a vehicle for white southern resistance to the Republican Party’s Reconstruction-era policies aimed at establishing political and economical equality for blacks. Its members waged an underground campaign of intimidation and violence directed at white and black Republican leaders. Though Congress passed legislation designed to curb Klan terrorism the organization saw its primary goal-the reestablishment of white supremacy – fulfilled through Democratic victories in state legislatures across the South in the 1870’s. After a period of decline, white Protestant nativist groups revived the Klan in the early 20th century, burning crosses and staging rallies, parades and marches denouncing immigrants, Catholics, Jews, Blacks, and organized labor. The Civil Rights Movement of the 1960’s also saw a surge in Klu Klux Klan activity, including bombings of black schools and churches and violence against black and white activists in the South.

It appears America is repeating history. The rise of the Black Lives Matter, the Rise of White Supremacy and Nationalism, and the third group – ANTIFA or Anti-Fascists.

Election of Donald J. Trump and the call to arms

No political campaign in American History, in my own personal opinion, has caused quite a stir and angst as that of President Donald J. Trump. The White Nationalists and some mainstream Evangelical Christians appear to have heralded Trump as America’s Messiah in a time of Obama era policies. Resurgence of Nationalism, specifically White Nationalism, became an apparent bedrock of the Republican Campaign. With the rise of White Nationalism and patriotism, another movement took to ground.

In the Atlantic, by Peter Beinart, an article focuses on the rise of ANTIFA in American Society, Politics, and a counter-balance to the Alt-Right and White Supremacy resurgence. With the rise of ANTIFA, the growing movement of Black Lives Matter, and the rise of White Nationalism and White Supremacy, a clash appeared inevitable. This clash culminated in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Trump era administration appears to be at the core of these three movements. It serves awareness to the volatile and hostility between ideologies and principles. Trump supporters rallying in the cry to make America Great again. A campaign slogan of Trump. This included a roll-back of Obama-era policies, and the movement to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

America is divided in a three-prong civil unrest. The first is focused on racial injustice. The second is focused on supremacy and nationalism. The third, is focused on battling fascism through the means of violence and shutting down free speech in the market place of ideas.

Socialism rises while American freedom and liberty succumbs to death

The greatest fear our nation faces is the moment when our way of life has fully been dismantled through the assimilation and integration of socialism. We are seeing this happening.

We must never forget that nations may – and usually do – sow seeds of their own destruction while enjoying unprecedented prosperity.

If we lose our freedom, it will be because we did not care enough – because we were not alert enough – because we were to apathetic to take note while the precious waters of our God-given freedom slipped – drop by drop – down the drain (Benson, the Title of Liberty; Let us Live to Keep Men Free).

The slow dismantling of precious liberty and freedom is quite audible and recognizable today. We were warned of this during the cold war and the height of American Prosperity. During a time when patriotism was alive and well. A time when it was honorable to be an American. A time when our veterans were welcome as heroes who had gone to combat against the forces of socialism and communism. Those days of prosperity is behind us. We are far from the American society our Grandparents and Parents once recognized and enjoyed.

The true battle for liberty and freedom appears to have garnered fewer and fewer supporters as the socialistic ideologies are becoming more and more prominent and progressive. The state rights of our government has now superseded individual rights in most areas of life.

How ‘Moral Agency’ is a Vast Right – Wing conspiracy theory

Realizing the struggles we are faced with, what type of society are we leaving for our children and grandchildren? Is it too late to turn the tides and move America away from socialism and into a more sovereign state where all individual rights are established, encouraged and supported? That men and women have the liberty and freedom of conscience to dictate their lives without governmental interference? And, what sacrifices will it take to bring America from the brink of full immersion into a socialistic country?

We only have the evidence of Cuba and how deceptive Fidel Castro was in establishing a democratic society into a socialistic and dictatorship. We have the chaos in Venezuela as reminder of the cost socialism has when it dismantles liberty and freedom. Lenin is correct when he ascertained that Socialism and Capitalism are incompatible. In order for socialism to survive in American Society, a full dismantling of individual liberty and freedom only need full realization.

The fundamental truth of moral agency is the basis of Right-Wing conspiracy because it is  not about racism, fascism, or gender issues (while they are relevant issues we need to address and contend with); it is about the onslaught of removing any semblance of the knowledge and wisdom to choose for one self.

Socialism essentially is the choice of captivity, bondage, misery, and enslavement. Democracy and individual freedom founded upon the principle truths of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence provided the freedom to choose liberty. Moral agency demands we choose liberty and freedom, or bondage and enslavement. This is principled truth. The conspiracy of the vast Right-Wing pits moral agency over captivity and enabling of further enslavement and dependency upon the state. It is the battle of Good verses Evil.

Who will take up the title of liberty in our hour of need?
