When it comes to working with people suffering substance use disorders; they also face legal issues.

As a clinician, we want to, and hope for the best, help our patients improve their quality of life. Yet, it also requires clinicians to be responsive in reporting patient non compliance to probation, courts, and other legal entities.

In some cases, the legal community attempts to.drive patient care in demanding a clinician to impose greater treatment sanctions. This ends up setting a patient up for failure.
