It seems that our society is facing some frightening times. We’ve sustain life-altering losses that appear quite profound and tragic. It may appear there is no hope for recovery. However, God’s divine and sovereign grace leaves us with faith and hope. It encourages us to not only seek after him. It empowers us to seek out the help and support of family and peers. We, too, are empowered to help support those who are struggling.

Scripture is quite clear. In times of need, we are called to share our faith, our hope, and comfort those in need. If we take upon ourselves the name of Christ, we also take upon ourselves to responsibility toward others.

…and are willing to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light; Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn, yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort…

Book of Mormon – Mosiah 18:7-10

Recovery is a dark journey for most of us. Through our faith in Jesus Christ, we come to full knowledge of His light, love, and truth. Do we forsake others struggling in their own darkness and journey? God forbid. This is the heart and foundation of recovery support groups. A place to provide comfort. A place where individuals gather and fellowship with one another. Mourning with those that are in mourning. To bear one another’s burdens so that their burdens are made light. It is because of our own personal journey through those dark valleys are we empowered to properly comfort others as God has comforted us.

~ Today’s Prayer and Meditation ~

Heavenly Father, these times are trying, frightening, and discouraging. There is much suffering and tears in the hearts of people. Let me give comfort to those in need through your love and grace. As I grieve with those who are grieving, guide my speech. And, when I become discouraged, keep me mindful of your infinite love. In Jesus name, Amen.

  1. Father, thank you for your Son who has reconciled us by his done work to get us new life given to us in belief it is finished, that work part to get it, is done

    Matt 5:17, John 19:30, Hebrews 9:14-17
Tells me this: That ever since the work part to be with you is over, thanks to Son’s perfect work, that no one else could ever do, is done.
So in belief we can walk in and Thank You, entering your courts now with thanksgiving and praise, by Son you took all sin away from your sight forever. That is how you came here to Earth on the Fiftieth day and entered into the Disciples first, by their being willing for this to be.
As you did the speaking through them onto the crowd at hand then, once each believed yo entered into them also, by their willing invitation of belief to you.
    Thank You

Now I am in a situation, that only you can mend, I do not know how and when, yet I do know you do and will come through
Thank You, even if it appears as not, Somehow, someway, that is what you do, even as when Son died, he did not lose faith, even when it looked as if he did, when he said Father why has thou forsaken me. That was Emotion talking, not Spirit, not belief

Then risen, Wow, woe is me as in Isaiah 6:1-6

Ask, believe and see those Hot tongs touch your lips too. Be new in the risen Son, over the dead one
God Father is not the God of the dead, he is the God of the Living

Brother, thank you fro all your posts, and growth I am seeing in your posts
